LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 1, 2009--
Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX) announced today that Stuart A. Randle,
president and chief executive officer of GI Dynamics, Inc., has joined
the company’s Board of Directors.
Jeffrey P. Black, chairman and chief executive officer of Teleflex,
said, “This appointment further strengthens the Board with expertise in
the medical industry. Stuart’s extensive operational experience will be
of great value to Teleflex as we continue to assume a leadership
position in the healthcare arena.”
Mr. Randle is president and chief executive officer of GI Dynamics,
Inc., a company in the Boston area focused on developing new therapies
for the treatment of Obesity and Diabetes. GI Dynamics is pioneering the
approach of noninvasive metabolic control through novel removable
devices that modify metabolic pathways. The company has also assembled a
world class group of advisors with specialties in bariatric surgery
gastroenterology, endocrinology and medical weight loss.
Mr. Randle earned an MBA from The Kellogg Graduate School of Management
at Northwestern University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from
Cornell University.
Additionally, Jeffrey P. Black, Sigismundus W. W. Lubsen and Harold L.
Yoh III were re-elected to the Board. Messrs. Black, Lubsen, Yoh and
Randle will serve a three-year term expiring in 2012.
