RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul. 20, 2009--
Teleflex Medical has announced the release of three Taut® ADAPt®
universal seal ports. The new ADAPt (Asymmetrical Dilating Access Port)
products include universal seals and maintain a completely bladeless tip
design. ADAPt products are used in laparoscopic surgery specifically
focused in general, gynecology, thoracic and abdominal surgery.
Taut ADAPt ports with the universal seal provide surgeons the ability to
perform laparoscopic procedures without torn seals, smudged cameras or
the need for reducer caps. When combined with the ADAPt tip, the
universal seal gives clinicians completely bladeless access, a sealing
system and economic advantage. ADAPt ports provide a tip that passes
through tissue by separating and not cutting, avoiding bladed injury and
leaving a 58% smaller defect than the most commonly used bladed trocars.*
“With this release, Teleflex Medical now offers a full line of
completely bladeless laparoscopic access for our customers in North
America and Europe,” said Ernest Waaser, President, Teleflex Medical.
“The addition of the universal seal strengthens our place in the market
and highlights our commitment to providing products that are less
invasive and focused on patient and provider safety.”
