Teleflex to Introduce New Humidification Technologies at AARC Congress 2013

November 15, 2013

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2013-- Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, is committed to helping clinicians improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. Teleflex will showcase its broad portfolio of Hudson RCI® Respiratory Therapy Products — including the new Neptune® Heated Humidifier with ConchaSmart™ Technology* — at the AARC Congress 2013, November 16-18, in Anaheim, CA.

“At Teleflex, we are dedicated to solving unmet clinical needs and delivering positive outcomes for clinicians, patients and buyers,” said Cary Vance, President, Teleflex Anesthesia and Respiratory Division. “Teleflex history is defined by practical innovation and the development of products designed to promote Breathing, Made Easier®. We look forward to sharing the value of choosing Teleflex as a preferred partner with the entire respiratory therapy community.”

Teleflex, a recipient of the 2013 Zenith Award from the American Association of Respiratory Care, has a strong history of delivering practical innovation pioneered by physicians and clinicians. Several of these will be highlighted at the Teleflex booth at the AARC Congress 2013:

  • Neptune® Heated Humidifier with ConchaSmart™ Technology
Teleflex will introduce the new Neptune Heater with ConchaSmart Technology, with features designed to help clinicians customize patient humidification to an even greater degree. This flexible operation will help clinicians provide optimal humidification for individual patient needs. The innovative ConchaSmart™ Column* allows respiratory therapists to choose from a wide range of humidification therapies using one universal device helping to promote clinician workflow efficiencies.
  • Comfort Flo® Humidification System
The Comfort Flo Humidification system* allows for the safe and effective delivery of heated, humidified oxygen therapy to a broad range of patients. With adjustable temperature control, the Comfort Flo system helps to promote patient comfort and compliance while adhering to the AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines for Humidification during Invasive and Non-Invasive Ventilation.1
  • Hudson RCI® ISO-Gard® Mask with ClearAir™ Technology
The first of its kind, this technology was developed by Teleflex in partnership with clinicians who identified an issue and wanted to take action. As the only solution available for “source control” of waste anesthetic gas in the recovery room, the specialized ClearAir™ Technology of the ISO-Gard® Mask simultaneously delivers oxygen to patients and scavenges their exhalation to help limit exposure faced by clinicians.
  • Gibeck® Humid-Flo® 72-Hour Integrated Kit
Everything needed for 72 hours of continuous humidification and ventilation in a single integrated kit.

Teleflex will also be hosting a Purpose-Driven Trivia Challenge at Teleflex booth 801, with proceeds benefiting the American Respiratory Care Foundation, a charity of the AARC.

The trivia challenge tests attendees’ knowledge of respiratory therapy in practice, including clinical protocols and safety standards. Teleflex will donate a virtual brick — on behalf of successful participants, up to $25,000 personalized bricks in total. The challenge will complement other booth activities, allowing attendees to engage with Teleflex executives and learn how the company’s products can enhance the quality and safety of their respiratory therapy practice.
