WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 15, 2015--
Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical
technologies for critical care and surgery, is committed to connecting
clinicians with technology in a way that improves clinical practice and
advances patient outcomes. Teleflex will showcase its broad portfolio of
products for the field of emergency medicine at the EMS World Expo
Conference, Sept. 15-19, in Las Vegas, including products for the
emergency airway, as well as solutions for difficult vascular access and
intranasal drug delivery.
“Teleflex is dedicated to providing innovative technology to meet the
evolving needs of our customers,” said Justin McMurray, President of the
Teleflex Anesthesia Division. “We will use our time at the EMS World
Expo to highlight our commitment to the field of emergency medicine and
the Teleflex mission to help improve the health and quality of people's
lives.”
The Rusch® Airtraq™ Avant™ Video
Laryngoscope System from Teleflex, now available to the EMS market, is
an ideal airway device for the emergency responder. The patented design
improves visibility for intubating in the field, where patient
positioning and airway quality is a common challenge. The Airtraq™
Avant™ System provides a low cost-per-use option with single-use
disposable blades, making acquisition of a video ready system
affordable. Simple-to-use and easy-to-learn, the Avant™ Video Camera
features a rotating screen, recording capability, and multiple display
options, including viewing via a smart phone (camera and adapter sold
separately).
Also from Teleflex is the Rusch®TruLite™ Laryngoscope,
a one-piece blade and handle system designed to perform under the
toughest field conditions. The one-piece design of the TruLite™
Laryngoscope minimizes the risk of component incompatibility in
emergency situations and offers configurations that make it simple to
choose the right blade for rapid intubation.
Teleflex will also be highlighting the LMA Supreme® Airway, a
laryngeal mask that is a safe, effective option for establishing an
emergency airway. Featuring a built-in drain tube to channel gastric
secretions away from the airway, the LMA Supreme® Airway is
an ideal choice for patients undergoing certain procedures requiring
mechanical ventilation in the field.
Featured prominently at the EMS World Expo Conference will be the Arrow®
EZ-IO® Intraosseous Vascular Access System from Teleflex. The
EZ-IO® System is a complete solution for rapid vascular
access – whether the emergency responder is facing difficult vascular
access challenges or the need for fast intraosseous access for critical
situations and life-threatening emergencies. This system is designed to
provide the medical professional rapid vascular access to the central
circulation within seconds1, delivering medications,
intravenous fluids and blood products to adult and pediatric patients
alike.
Another featured product will be the LMA® MAD Nasal™
Intranasal Mucosal Atomization Device from Teleflex. When IV drug
delivery is less than ideal the LMA® MAD Nasal™ Device2
can come to the rescue delivering safe, painless and rapidly effective
treatment. No shot. No needle. No risks of needle stick injury.
Teleflex will also be hosting ‘How Will You Respond?’ practice
and play in-booth scenarios. Participants will be challenged to react
and respond to real life emergency scenarios while exchanging ideas,
sharing clinical expertise, and getting hands on experience with the
emergency medicine products offered by Teleflex.
