WAYNE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 2015--
Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical
devices used in critical care and surgery, will showcase the LMA
Protector™ Airway, our most advanced 2nd generation LMA® Supraglottic
Airway Device (SAD), at the World Airway Management Meeting in Dublin,
Ireland on November 12 - 14, 2015.
The LMA Protector™ Airway is the world's first single-use laryngeal mask
with a dual gastric drainage channel and pharyngeal chamber designed
specifically to channel high volume, high pressure gastric contents away
from the airway. The 4th National Audit Project of the Royal College of
Anaesthetists and the Difficult Airway Society (NAP4) has recommended
all hospitals have SADs with gastric access available for both routine
and rescue airway management.1
The LMA Protector™ Airway has a 100% silicone cuff and airway tube and
is designed to achieve insertion success and a secure fit.
The LMA Protector™ Airway features Cuff Pilot™ Technology. The Cuff
Pilot™ Technology is an integrated pressure indicator that constantly
monitors intracuff pressure and provides at-a-glance manometry of cuff
pressure levels.
The LMA Protector™ Airway allows for fibreoptic guided tracheal
intubation, with endotracheal tubes up to 7.5 mm to provide a safe and
effective option for airway replacement.
